Grace Byrne is Director of Finance for F-Prime. Prior to re-joining F-Prime in February 2022, she worked on the management company accounting team at Monroe Capital. Grace also worked as a senior tax accountant at Ernst & Young, where she specialized in providing tax compliance services to clients in the private equity and technology industries.
Grace received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from Boston College. She is a certified public accountant in the state of Massachusetts.
Rachel Woolbert joined F-Prime in January of 2022. She is the Executive Assistant to President and Senior Managing Partner Stephen C. Knight, M.D. Prior to F-Prime, Rachel supported the Founder and Chairman of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group (CFEG), a consulting firm advising wealthy family businesses. Prior to CFEG, Rachel supported the CIO of HighVista Strategies, an investment management firm co-founded by a Harvard Business School finance professor. Rachel started her administrative career at Harvard Business School, where she served as a Faculty Assistant and Unit Coordinator for 17 years.
Rachel received her BA from Harvard University Extension School, graduating cum laude.
Sarah Lamont is a Senior Associate at F-Prime, where she focuses on early-stage investments in fintech. Prior to joining F-Prime, she was a senior consultant at Oliver Wyman in the Private Capital & Financial Services practices, working with some of the world’s largest banks, private equity firms, and other financial institutions across the US and Europe.
In addition to her role at F-Prime, Sarah also co-leads the Boston chapter of the Emerging Venture Capitalists Association (EVCA) and is a Data Advocate for Fintech Sandbox, a non-profit serving fintech entrepreneurs by aggregating data and infrastructure for free during a startup’s development phase.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she majored in Mechanical Engineering and learned how to fly a Cessna.
Tierney Caputo joined F-Prime in September 2021. She is the Executive Assistant to David Jegen and John Lin. Prior to F-Prime, she worked as an Executive Assistant and Event Planner. Tierney received her BA in Communications and Public Relations from Virginia Tech.
Erica Lee is a Senior Associate at F-Prime, focusing on investments in healthcare technology and services companies. Prior to joining F-Prime, she was an investment banking associate at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she advised on IPO and M&A transactions across the healthcare IT space.
Erica holds a B.A. from Georgetown University, where she majored in Finance and International Business.
Abdul is a Principal at F-Prime, where he focuses on early-stage investments in B2B software and fintech. Prior to joining F-Prime, Abdul invested in emerging markets-based technology startups and worked with a venture-backed digital banking/payments startup in East Africa. He began his career in financial services where he carried out assurance and valuations services for venture capital, private equity and hedge funds in New York & London.
Abdul holds B.A & B.S degrees from the University of Minnesota. He also holds joint MBA & MPA/ID degrees from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and the Harvard Kennedy School.
Clay Basser-Wall is the Chief Compliance Officer of F-Prime. He has more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience. Before joining F-Prime in 2020, Clay served as the Vice President of Inside Information Compliance and Employee Trade Monitoring in Fidelity’s Ethics Office. Before that, he was an Enforcement Attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he investigated potential violations of the federal securities laws, and an Associate of the law firms of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C., and Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, LLP, where he represented corporations and their directors and officers in securities lawsuits and SEC investigations.
Caly holds a law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was a founding member of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment Law & Practice and an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Board. He received his B.A., with honors and distinction, from Sonoma State University.
Amber Cai is a Venture Partner with F-Prime, focusing on early-stage biotechnology investments. She is the founding CEO of Skyline Therapeutics, a leading gene and cell therapy company.
Prior to joining Skyline, Amber was a founding member of Novartis’ R&D Center in China, where she was most recently the Head of Operations and led the Center’s overall business operations overseeing a broad set of functions. During 2005-2006, Amber led the efforts to establish Novartis’ R&D presence in China from the concept stage to implementation. After the Center was established in 2006 as the first fully integrated research and development center in China by multinational pharma companies, she played an instrumental role in recruiting talent, establishing operations, developing Novartis’ China R&D strategy, and building strategic partnerships with government and other external stakeholders and collaborators. Prior to her work in China, Amber was with the Business Development at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Researches in Cambridge, MA.
Amber has decades of experience in science before shifting her career into business. She completed her Ph.D. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in GPCR signaling and holds an MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Muz Mansuri joined F-Prime in January 2020 as a Venture Partner and is based in the Cambridge office. Muz will be working with various F-Prime team members to evaluate therapeutic and digital investment and company creation opportunities. Muz has more than 35 years of experience in various R&D roles as a senior executive within the global biopharmaceutical industry.
Prior to joining F-Prime, Muz was a member of the Executive Committee at Sanofi, as Executive Vice President, Strategy, Business Development, and Licensing. Among other responsibilities, Muz headed the Strategy, Business Development, Alliance Management and the Venture Group for Sanofi. Before this, he was at Gilead Sciences as Senior Vice President, Research and Development Strategy and Business Development. In that capacity he led the R&D Strategy, Business Development, and M&A activities for the company. Muz has served as Chief Executive Officer of several biotech companies and as a General Partner at Flagship Ventures (now Flagship Pioneering). He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a bench medicinal chemist with Bristol Myers.
Muz received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University College London. He conducted postdoctoral research at UCLA and Columbia University.
Mike is Data Scientist at F-Prime, where he focuses on opportunities in healthcare technology and data science. Previously Mike worked at Beam Therapeutics, F-Prime, General Motors, and Applied Quantum Technologies.
Mike holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, an M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering and B.S.E. in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
